Summer Scholars Program

As part of CASE District I’s ongoing commitment to support diversity in the advancement profession, we provide professional development opportunities for talented juniors, seniors, graduate students, and individuals new to the profession who have demonstrated a strong interest and commitment to learning more about career options in the advancement profession.

Open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students or new advancement professionals with one to three years of full-time employment at a CASE District I member institution, the 2017 Summer Scholars Program will support the registration cost for selected qualified individuals to attend one of the CASE Summer Institutes:

  • Educational Fundraising held at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH (July 23 – 27);
  • Communications and Marketing held at Boston University, Boston, MA (July 24 – 28);
  • Independent Schools held at Boston University, Boston, MA (July 24 – 28);
  • Advancement Services held at Boston University, Boston, MA (July 31 – Aug 4); and
  • Alumni Relations held at Boston University, Boston, MA (July 31 – Aug 4).

The Scholarship Award includes the following:

  • Full registration to the CASE Summer Institute selected
  • Mentorship by an experienced advancement professional from a CASE District I member institution
  • Networking opportunities with other institute attendees

Summer Institute Scholars Program

Please note: Upon submission, you will be prompted to download a Host Institution Confirmation form to be completed by the institution representative confirming submission of your application. Please submit the completed form to The completed application including the Host Institution Form must be received by Friday, May 26 to be considered by the review committee.
  • Please indicate why you feel you should be selected for the CASE District I Summer Scholars Program, and what you hope to gain from participation in this program. (Maximum: One Page)
  • Please submit a head shot photo with your application for the use of publication of the winners in .jpeg format with the highest resolution possible.
  • Please submit a one page recommendation letter from a professional at your institution supporting your case for application.
